I got the Samsonite Prodigy Spinner (original review) over a year ago, so I thought it would be a good time to post how the luggage has survived the biweekly travels and numerous marathons’ worth of lugging around. (And frankly to my pleasure, quite well!)
The case has been very easy to clean and maintain, and the ‘hard-but-flexible’ shell has definitely been resistant to most scratches and cuts:
But there’s always an exception, this cut is quite sharp and deep so probably unavoidable with any piece of luggage:
The zip-lock mechanism has worked and continues to do so very well. (It’s received some WD-40 TLC every now and then just in case)
As mentioned before, the shell has been very scratch resistant, and this case has been used and rammed into the overhead locker for almost 100 times:
My only actual complaint about the Build Quality would be that the wheels are starting to crack a tiny bit, so I’ll probably have to look for a replacement when they do crumble so much that they will become noisy. (If I had to estimate the distance they’ve traveled, that would be more than +250km in the past year, on all sorts of surfaces from rough pavement to even sometimes through sand and mud!)
… So overall still very pleased with the purchase! The inside of the case looks as new, which is the reason why I forgot to take pictures of the inside of the luggage… But I’m sure you can take my word for that and are mostly interested in the exterior anyways as that’s what really takes the beating in the travels!
